About John Rodriguez

John was in Who's Who in American Junior Colleges (Alvin Jr. College, 1970). After receiving his B.A. (Stephen F. Austin, 1972), he worked for Naval Security, graduating with honors from the Defense Language Institute (Monterey, CA 1975).

While competing in Triathlons and Road Races in the mid 1980s, John became interested in massage in 1986. Although he really liked the results of his weekly massage sessions, he did NOT see massage as a business for him until after a couple of good experiences with the deeper technique called Neuromuscular Therapy. When other runners at Houston's Memorial Park saw John working on his own lower leg muscles and asked him about massage, John decided to undertake a formal study of bodywork.

Two keys for this new career direction were the results John got from Neuromuscular Therapy and the fact that clients can keep on comfortable clothing during a session.

John studied massage therapy and neuromuscular techniques in 1988 and 1989, and gradually built enough business so that by 1997 he was turning away clients. This was the inspiration for the creation of an associate practice. We strive to have continuity of therapy in order to provide better service for our clients.

John began working with Carl Lewis and other members of the Santa Monica Track club in 1993, traveling to the World Championships (Stuttgart Germany, 1993 and Goteborg, Sweden, 1995), the Goodwill Games (St. Petersburg, Russia, 1994) and to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. John also worked at the 2000 USA Olympic Trials in Sacramento.
